About Modern Woodmen of America
Modern Woodmen of America is a fraternal benefit society headquartered in Rock Island, Illinois. Joseph Cullen Root founded it on January 5, 1883, in Lyons, Iowa. As a fraternal society, it is owned by and run for its members rather than outside shareholders. It is not connected to WoodmenLife, an Omaha-based fraternal that Root also founded.
Products
Its main products are life insurance, both term and permanent, and annuities for retirement savings. Buying a certificate makes you a member, which gives you access to the society's fraternal programs, including local chapter activities and volunteer projects.
How to buy
Coverage is sold through Modern Woodmen's own financial representatives, who work with members in their local communities. Product features and availability can vary by state. Ask a representative for the policy contract and illustration before you buy, and compare offers from other life insurers.
Contact
Current members should contact their Modern Woodmen representative or use the contact options on the society's official website at modernwoodmen.org. To compare coverage, you can request a quote.
