OUTsurance was launched in early February 1998 by Willem Roos, Howard Aron and René Otto, offering car and household insurance with the promise that “you always get something out”, the OUTbonus. Business insurance followed in 2003 and life insurance in 2010. The company is based at 1241 Embankment Road, Zwartkop, Centurion, and is part of OUTsurance Group Limited.

International sister companies

Youi, the group's sister company in Australia, launched in November 2008 with online quoting for car and home insurance. In May 2024 the OUTsurance Group announced the launch of car and home insurance in Ireland as OUTsurance Ireland.

Products

OUTsurance sells car, home and contents, pet and life insurance to individuals and short-term cover for businesses. Quotes, policy changes and claims are handled by phone, online and in the OUTsurance app.
