Prosperity Life Insurance Group, LLC was founded in 2009 with backing from Black Diamond Capital Partners and Reservoir Capital Group. It grew through the demutualization and acquisition of Shenandoah Life (2012) and SBLI USA (2014). Elliott Management took majority ownership in 2019, National Western Life became a Prosperity Life Group company in July 2024, and JAB Insurance acquired the group from Elliott in September 2025.
