About PZU
PZU's history goes back to the 1920s, when the Polish Directorate for Mutual Insurance (Polska Dyrekcja Ubezpieczeń Wzajemnych) was established. After 1989 PZU became a joint-stock company, and its life business was placed in PZU Życie in 1991. Head office: Rondo Ignacego Daszyńskiego 4, 00-843 Warsaw.

The PZU Group offers motor, property, life, health and travel insurance for individuals and businesses, along with pension funds, asset management and, through group companies, banking.
Ownership
PZU is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. As of July 2026, the State Treasury held 34.2% of shares and the remainder was held by other investors.
