About Santam
Headquartered in Cape Town, Santam was founded in 1918 and listed on the JSE in 1964, with secondary listings on the Namibian Stock Exchange and A2X. Santam is a subsidiary of the Sanlam group, which holds 62.3% of its shares. The company has kept a market share above 22% over the last 10 years and serves more than 1 million policyholders.
Products
Santam sells general (short-term) insurance: car, home and personal-lines cover for individuals; commercial, corporate and specialist cover for businesses, including property, liability, engineering, marine, aviation and energy risks; and agricultural insurance such as crop and farm asset cover. The direct insurer MiWay is part of the Santam group.
