About Talanx

The group's history starts in 1903, when HDI was founded as an employer's liability insurance association for the German iron and steel industry; HDI moved to Hannover in 1919. Talanx AG was formed in 1996 as a holding company. The mutual HDI V.a.G. is the largest shareholder with roughly 77%, the rest is free float.

Brands and products

Talanx companies operate under brands such as HDI (retail and industrial insurance), Hannover Re (reinsurance), WARTA in Poland, LifeStyle Protection and neue leben (bancassurance) and Ampega (asset management). The company had insurance revenue of about 49 billion euros for 2025.
