About WoodmenLife

Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society, doing business as WoodmenLife, was founded on June 6, 1890, in Omaha, Nebraska, by Joseph Cullen Root, who had earlier founded Modern Woodmen of America. It is a not-for-profit fraternal benefit society headquartered in the Woodmen Tower at 1700 Farnam Street in Omaha. The organization was long known as Woodmen of the World.

How a fraternal works

WoodmenLife is owned by its members. Buying a certificate makes you a member, and the society uses its resources for member benefits and local chapter activities, including community service and programs such as presenting American flags.

Products

WoodmenLife offers life insurance, including permanent coverage, and annuities, sold through its own representatives. Product availability varies by state.
