Brighthouse Financial, Inc. is headquartered at 11225 North Community House Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, and trades on Nasdaq as BHF. It was created from a large part of MetLife's former U.S. retail segment; the separation was completed on August 4, 2017. On November 6, 2025, Brighthouse signed a merger agreement under which it will become part of Aquarian Holdings. As of mid-2026 the deal was still awaiting insurance regulatory approvals and was expected to close in 2026.
